A Promising Start
After a great camp in keystone Colorado before thanksgiving the hole team was ready for the season. And it really showed in the first couple of race series. Three different U.S. ski team men have hit the podium on the world cup this season already. Along with nor am and Europa cup podiums as well. My season has started great to. With 4 top15s at the season opening Nor ams. The field was deep with world cup talent and really stacked in there. I got lucky with good start positions because of last season Nor am success and took advantage of it. I had a chance to do big things after every first run of the series. But couldn’t get it done on second run. None the less I am in the title hunt. After the Nor ams I went to Bevier Creek where I hoped that my first world cup was going to be. But with his amazing downhill finish the coaches decided to start Steve Nyman instead of Jimmy or me. Well deserving choice if you ask me. I saw one of the greatest runs in ski racing history when I was there. My teammate Andrew Weibrecht started 53. It was dumping snow out, the coarse was slow and you could barely see the ground because the light was so flat. No one who started around him finished top 30. Andrew ended up 10th. I think he would have one the race if not for a mistake down on the bottom. Watching the run gives me chills.
Now I am sitting in are apartments on the vineyard in Trento Italy. Trying to get acclimated. We have a training block here for a few days before we start racing some Europa cups(or trench tour as my coaches like to call it). I’m hoping to get my first world cup start in Alta Badia Italy before I come home for X-mas. Wow am I jet lagged. I’ve been in Europe one day and already had schnitzel and pizza, my two favorite foods over here. I’m having a blast living my dream. Hope the snow is deep in your neck of the woods. Keep on ripping.

P.S. sorry about the long time in between bogs. I will try and post once a week threw out the ski season.

Hey Will!
Just heard the great news!!! What a thrill...just remember, it's sticks in snow. Have fun, it's just part of the journey. FYI, it's Sienna's(stepdaughter) first Junior race this weekend at Bachelor. The cycle keeps on turning, eh? She and Tiffany wish you a great time, too. Save the bib for your DAD, he's so proud of you!
It's your time...enjoy it!

Thanks for the signature on the Bluewood T shirt and bib. They were a great item @ auction. L.B. bought the bib. We are following your race season and we are confident in your success. Adam Morrison senoir year @ Zag shot 37.5% from field. Larry Bird 87-88 average 29.7 points per game. He shot 50% from field. I think you see the point. Positive thoughts are on your way. Best wishes Greg

Will, I had lunch today at Trento and thought of you. Now we're in Bolzano and we'll spend the holidays skiing at Bormio and Val Gardena. Keep us posted on your results. Take care,

Happy Birthday Nate just finished the Bluewood Christmas camp with George Struthers as coach. It was his 7th Christmas camp. Good deal as I got to ski also {thanks Brad}. Work hard, stay focused, remain calm when all others are not. Best wishes Greg
